countdown to baby bilbrey!

Posted on | March 18, 2009 | No Comments

what a crazy weekend! of course it decided to snow, sunshine, rain AND hail all in one day, and when we had a lot to do. grr. sunday was the big celebration for emily and david and their impending birth of baby bilbrey. it turned out GREAT! they got so much good stuff for their little bundle, the cupcakes and food were yummy and the drinks were flowing. good times were had by all, and my little nugget gets a big fat gold star for being the best behaved baby i have EVER seen. i was really worried about bringing her, but she straight chilled the whole time, snoozed when she got bored and never fussed once. i’ve been thanking her ever since. emily looked precious as always in her belly gloriousness (swear that thing looks like a strap on belly!) and no one in their right mind can wait to meet the littlest bilbs. i know i can’t! all the little things i had been crafting for the past month or two were a hit. go martha go!

only about 6 weeks to go until i sleep rediculously close to my phone and possibly call emily every couple of hours to see if she’s in labor (kidding lady) (sort of). the day i was induced emily literally ran out of her work, fogetting her cell phone and becoming really mad (cursing i’m sure) at the fact that she had to go back in and get it. i know when the call comes i am going to be equally freaked out that i might miss something. for giggles, someone should probably install a camera in my car prior to catch the insane amount of road rage that anyone in my path from gig harbor to st. joes will have to endure. just saying. ahh! i’m so excited.

oh man! in other baby news, my cousin Katie and her husband Kevin find out tomorrow what kind of biscuit they’re cooking. i can’t wait to hear! good luck guys, hope the little one is as modest as his or her little cousin was (aka, not at all) and flashes you the goods without a problem.

i am offically starting e-diets tomorrow. there is nothing more annoying than the scale saying i’ve lost every pound of the baby weight, but my stomach jiggling when i walk. so gross. i understand – 9 months to put it on, 9 months to get it off, but i’m just miserable. oh and POOP on angie harmon who had a baby 10 weeks ago and looked like kate moss on the bonnie hunt show today. i fart in her general direction.

and the award for the cutest pregnant lady ever goes to…

my bee eff eff Emily! i have never seen such a perfectly round belly. it looks like she’s smuggling a basketball and it’s precious!

this weekend was great! friday night the girls went out to celebrate miss emily’s impending birth. we went to indochine and i sure wish we hadn’t because the food was gross, the atmosphere was lame and the service was terrible ( and by gross, i mean i didn’t want to ever stop eating my seared ahi, by lame i mean we sat next to a koi pond and all drinks were served with an orchid for a garnish, and by terrible i mean we had the most precious japanese waiter alive). it was so much fun to celebrate baby Bilbs and have a night with just the girls. also, i was finally able to give Em the diaper bag i bought for her! she really liked and i’m so glad.

saturday i got to hang with Em again at her first baby shower. i took the kiddo with me and she was a big hit (duh). i had my first taste of baby food, which reiterates that i will be making my own for little H. anything in a jar called “spaghetti dinner” is not something i want my munchkin to endure. :D big shout out to Connie and Reed! it was so good to see you two again, it had been way too long.

in chubby news (my chub this time, not Harpers), i need to get back on track with the whole working out/diet thing. i’ve noticed that during the week i literally only have coffee in the morning and by 1 or 2pm i haven’t eaten any food! i think it’s definitely hurt my weight loss because my body probably thinks i’m starving so it’s holding on to my fat. NO THANKS! i’m making eating a priority from now on. besides, i need the strength to lift my meaty munchkin.

as i write this, Harper is next to me on the guest bed fighting sleep. i wish i could tell her that someday, you’ll wish you could go back to the carefree days when people force you to take naps and you can sleep whenever you’d like. why fight sleep? sleep is the coolest.

before i forget, i’d like to throw it out there that Emily and I have still got it. driving to dinner on friday night, not only did we get honked at, but the truck of dudes even followed us (for what i’m not sure – were we supposed to stop and give them our number? whats up highschool…). we laughed and joked that they had no clue what they were honking at – an 8 month pregnant lady and a lady with a 4 month old. lolz.

i leave you with a precious picture of my 2 favorite peeps. she is lucky to look so much like her papa (skinny papa at that – he’s lost 22 pounds!). my life rules.

it's hard out here for a baby.

a hard day of drooling, checking out home depot from mama’s front carrier, dodging new hairdos given by dog mouths and just generally being cute, ends in…falling asleep sitting up.

precious little biscuit. little does she know, this scene was common about one year ago when in my first trimester of pregnancy, i’d often fall asleep mid-sentence in that very same spot.
