last night our little sleeperdoodle went to bed at 9:30 (as usual) and didn’t need to be fed until SEVEN AM! it was awesome! she did wake up quite a few times, in need of a pacifier replacement and blankie retrieval, but other than that, she slept the whole night! she even went back to sleep until 9:30 after a little snack. CHAMP.

our next goal is getting her to fall back asleep on her own without me having to run in there and give her her bink and blankie back. i know she’s almost 6 months old and many people would say “just let her cry it out”, but sorry folks, i just can’t. hearing her cry and knowing that she needs something breaks my heart. besides, she’s allowed to have comfort items. she will barely touch a binky during daylight (except to use it as a toy, and to chew on it backwards), so i will happily let her have her creature comforts at night. plus, soon she will be able to reach said items by herself and can get them as she pleases.

since i haven’t updated in a while on my un-chubbing progress, i thought i’d let ya’ll know that i am still consistently losing a pound a week, and i feel great. i am 4 pounds under pre-Harper weight and still going strong. i’m still using ediets.com and just started Jillian Michaels 30 day shred workout. i feel REALLY proud of myself, and have no problem saying it. do i want a pizza? yes. do i want a burrito? yes. fortunately, i’ve found that pepperoni lean pockets and lean cuisine enchiladas get rid of both of those cravings. woot.

if things go as planned this weekend, i will be getting a gift for Harper that i am really excited about. only it’s for me, too. hmm…intrigued? stay tuned.

this nap's on me.

my new favorite thing = Harper deciding that her morning nap should be sprawled across my chest a la when she was a newborn. after a crazy weekend for both her and i, i was looking forward to lounging around with her all day monday. when she got fussy around 11am per usual, i picked her up and sat on the couch and cuddled her for a second. she instantly fell asleep, and stayed that way for almost 2 hours. precious little bean! thinking it was a fleeting moment (she gets pretty squiggly these days and doesn’t like to sleep on me anymore – or so i had thought), i cherished every second of it. to my (happy) surprise, she has followed suit everyday since. i love it!

she continues to crack me up daily. i *think* she might have a tooth thinking about making it’s debut, though i have zero visual confirmation (i can’t see or even feel anything), but her drool has taken it up a notch this week and she is a little fussier and she is making a new funny face which looks like she is rubbing her tongue against her gums and pursing her lips. i dunno. mamas with older babies, maybe you can tell me your opinion. did your baby start showing signs of teething way before you could feel or see one? i would be uber joyous if she didn’t teethe for another 5 months or so, but want to be prepared if she is in fact sprouting some toofs.

while i’m asking opinions, i have been having a diaper dilema at night time. Harper is in a size 2 diaper, which fits great and i have no problems during the day with blowouts or leaking. but at night, she has been constantly peeing through her diaper. she only gets up once a night these days, and you can be sure as heck i am not going to wake her up before that just to save a load of laundry. i just feel bad that when she does wake up, she not only has pee on her jammies, but she is then subjected to a middle of the night changing, complete with a wash down from mama and new jammies, then is expected to go back to sleep. should i buy a bigger size diaper just for nighttime? i don’t really care about the laundry itself (although changing a crib sheet is quite the b**ch), i am more worried about my little nug-nug sleeping with a pee-y diaper. i love having a blog so i can make up words.

happy first easter!

somebunny’s adorable! that would be the precious munchkin to the right. yesterday we went to GG’s house for easter dinner with uncle bobby, auntie and great grandma eileen. Harper looked adorable in her easter dress and we had a great time! dinner was yummy, and Harper was spoiled with all the baskets that the easter bunny brought for her. uncle bobby, if you’re reading, i hope you like my “blob”. :)

big thanks to GG who watched Harper the whole time I was with Emily in labor. i appreciate it so much mom! and Harper told me she had a lot of fun with you and great grandma.

poor Scot is off on another 6 days of work. :( my poor hub. i can’t even imagine how tired he must be. i love him so much for the sacrifice he is making for our family. i just can’t imagine dropping Harper off at daycare, and the fact that he is working his bum off to make sure that doesn’t happen makes him my hero!

we were all able to go visit Poppy in the hospital later on Saturday and Harper met her new best friend for the first time! she wore her hello kitty sweater dress in honor of her new asian friend. it was so crazy to see how big a 5 month old is compared to a newborn, and i can’t beleive Harper was ever that small (well not quite that small, but you know what i mean).
