it’s sunday, but i still get another sunny, glorious day with my hubby. YAY! he did have to work yesterday, so my mom and i did some errands and had lunch while he was gone. harper went to her usual saturday night date with her so Scot and i could go see rory’s new band play at the new frontier. it was a good time, and fun to have a night out as always. today Scot went golfing with the guys so my mom and i did what we do best – went shopping. it was so nice i wore shorts and a tanktop. LOVE this
weather and we rarely get it on memorial day weekend so it’s even better. we had a yummy lunch at fondi’s on their outdoor patio and then shopped a bit. i found 2 ridiculously cute tops at ann taylor loft, one of which i will sport for our family photos in a few weeks. and i got it on the cheap which makes it like, 10 times cuter in my opinion. we went into hush baby, a very cute baby boutique where emily got me my diaper bag and i got her hers. they have high prices (45 bucks for a onesie?) but it’s fun to look and drool. the lady there put a little yellow bow clip in Harper’s hair and i had to buy it because a) it looks so friggin cute and b) none of her clips will stay in her hair yet and this one doesn’t budge. she sported it the rest of the day.
after shopping and when Scot was home, the 3 of us headed to Emily’s parents house to hang out with the Bilbreys. i was starving and was beyond excited to eat at the new del taco out that way. being a california staple, i freaked when i heard we were getting one. where else serves fries with tacos? that’s right, no where (well i me
an maybe, but i don’t know of one – or care for that matter – del taco reminds me of mah childhood summers in cali with my family). so anywho, i got my burrito/fry combo on and it was glorious. we hung with emily, david and poppy for the evening, and Scot wore Harper on his chest while david and him played bocci ball (aka the best outdoor game for summer ever). i wish i had gotten a picture (idiot!) because it was hilarious and adorable. she just hung there playing with dad and uncle david. so cute. i got plenty of poppy cuddle time. she is 6 weeks old already! and putting on the chub, love it. we headed home just in time for jammies and a bottle, and she was more than ready to hit the hay. she had a ton of fresh air today and no real naps, so i bet she’s sawing logs as we speak.
tomorrow will consist of the following: coffee and cinnimon roll run, kiddie pool, sunscreen, floppy hats and my very favorite 2 people and my very favorite 2 pups. i’m gonna go to bed so it will be here sooner. i can’t wait.

ahh! wrist rubberbands and knuckle dimples are the BEST! on monday at our weekly coffee date with emily and poppy, a guy asked Harper if she was 9 or 10 months old. when i replied, “6 and half” he exclaimed “oh my gosh, what is your mommy feeding you?!” booyah. i love chubby babies, speshuly mine!
i’m pretty excited for the next couple of weeks. my birthday is coming up and i’m getting a haircut thanks to my hunny, and a YUMMY dinner with close friends at indochine. i’ve been dreaming of the seared ahi i had there when bree and i took emily to dinner and now it will be in my tummy once again. noice.
i am also SUPER excited because we just booked a family photo session with Stacy Jacobsen. i found her blog a few weeks ago and practically begged Scot to let me book with her. i liked Harpers newborn and 3 month pictures, but for her 6 month i wanted something unique and fun. try not to die as you peruse her website. she is flat out awesome and i am SO looking forward to having her take our pictures. tomorrow i’m off to find outfits for the 3 of us. if you could please cross your fingers that my haircut doesn’t get botched so i look decent for these photos. although i’m fairily certain a botched cut would look better than the mess i have on my head right now.
the h monster is awesome as usual. this week she has really taken sleeping in to the next level. read = 9:30pm to 10am one day. at first i was worried, but she seems very content during the day so she must need the z’s. i know i’ve said this before, but i can’t even say how amazing it is that she sleeps through the night. we feel SO lucky that she is such a good sleeper. this week she has been extremely interested in her pointer fingers. she taps them together and now if she reaches for something, she goes finger first, like she is pointing at it. it’s kind of adorable. i’ve also noticed she is finding really tiny things (like a freckle on my hand) and trying to pick it up. so her peepers are working nicely! and what pretty peepers they are.
you may have noticed i added a widget that shows who comes to my blog. i can’t beleive how many people around the country come to visit and don’t even say hi. rude! just kidding. but seriously, say hey once in a while so i know who you are and how you found me. i won’t bite, promise.
i also just noticed that in my labels, i misspelled ‘breastfeeding’ as ‘beastfeeding’. i thought to change it and then thought better of it – crap, it’s funny and TRUE. that kid had a chomper on her.

last night was brees birthday celebration. we had so much fun! i made cupcakes with robot candles (bree LOVES robots) and i bought her a bunch of funky and fun kitchen things that are so cute i might try to steal them back the next time i go to her house (fun apron, birdie s&p shakers, octopus dish scrubber, etc). i’ll just quickly say that sillyness was abound and leave you with some rediculous photos from the evening.

my mom is the best! she showed up at noon with a car full of plants, flowers and mulch, ready to help me make the front of our house look presentable. since Scot landscapes 6 days a week, the LAST thing he wants to do when he gets home is pull weeds at our place. and since bugs scare me, i’ve never done any gardening to our place. my mom didn’t want Scot to have to worry about our place, which was so sweet of her! my dumb butt forgot to take a “before” picture until after we had weeded, but let me tell you, it was AWFUL before. but here it is before we did anything else but weed:
as you can see we have a very small area to call our own, but after a few hours of weeding, digging and planting (while Harper bounced in her jumper in the grass), the front of our house looks really good now! and we used rubber mulch which is made from recycled tires and lasts for over 12 years (sups green). and here we have the “after”! it is going to look so great this summer as the plants grow and spread. thanks mom! you are the best and i had so much fun with you, even though there were bugs.
