un-belly pics.

i hate to toot my own horn, but this is MY blog and if i feel proud of myself, it’s my prerogative as far as i’m concerned so TOOT TOOT! obv, the first picture is funny because holy COW, i was about to pop. but the difference between the second and third are what i’m most stoked about. i get down on myself sometimes because i can’t see the progress, so i went to compare the last pics i took at the beginning of may (so glad i took them!) and i can for sure see the difference. not only are my arms thinner, my tummy a bit flatter and my love handles dissapearing, but our room is way messier, so that must mean i am busy out walking or eating healthy. :]

no more muffin top for this mama! i am officially under 150 (barely, but i don’t give a hoot, i’ve been battling that goal for weeeeeeks now) and fitting in to some very old jeans in my closet. i feel great and love walking everyday with harper and my mom. go me, toot toot, pat on my own back, TADA, TYVM and goodnight.

denied.

a week or so ago i signed up for meetup.com, a site that helps people find other people to well, meet up with. my friend Natalie suggested it to find some mama/baby groups in the area. i found one that sounded great and was for pierce county moms. basically a chick started this group, so you have to give info about you and your baby and then you can “join”.

i literally just got an email with the following:

Your request to join 20-Something Moms of Pierce County was declined.

The person who declined your request, Dawn, said:

seriously, Dawn? you’re going to deny me access to your super rad coffee dates and zoo trips with no knowledge of who i am or who my child is, and then not even give reason? Dawn’s a B. that’s cool, guess i’ll just continue my own playdates, also known as ‘trips to target’.

so anyways, the H monster is doing all sorts of crazy stuff this week! first, she full on pulled herself up onto her knees using scots legs for leverage, and then looked at us all sorts of proud of herself. her 2 teeth are half way out and today she officially got up on her hands and knees and started rocking back and forth. gah. what is happening to my baby?

we had a fun day today at the bilbreys with lots of friends, babies and bocce ball. poppy looked way stupid cute in harpers hand me down jeans and precious janie and jack hoodie. she’s 2 months old now! so pretty with BLUE eyes and light brown hair. cutest 1/4 asian baby ever! as you can see from this picture, harper is pretty in to her, too.

on a gloating note, i am offically 7 pounds under pre-harper weight and put on a pair of jeans today that i bought right around the time of our wedding (2006). um, YAY! my mama and i have been walking 2 miles everyday and i’m very excited about it! get to gossip with mom, get a tan and get in shape. waaaay better than joining some meanies playgroup.

i could just die.

yesterday we had our photo session with the awesome and very talented Stacy Jacobsen. considering Harper officially has 2 teeth (yep, both are out!), she did pretty good until the very end. i don’t think i can find the words to describe what a great person and photographer Stacy is. her location choices were awesome, and her pictures – well, they speak for themselves. i woke up this morning to an email from her saying she was so excited about the pictures that she would have a sneak peak for me sometime today. a while later i got an email saying she was done! holy service batman! to say that i love the photos would be an understatement. if i could afford to and if it weren’t so dang vain, i’d buy one of each and hang them all around our house. please listen to me: if you live in the area and need a photog, this is the gal for you. you can check out her blog also which is totally stalk-worthy. we will for sure be using her for a certain someones first birthday and beyond. and p.s. you should, too.

click here to see more pictures and try not to freak your freak when you see Harper.

sweet potatooooes.

finally. a food my kid likes. yeah, i know, we only tried a few before this, but it was nice to see a happy face and an open mouth going towards the spoon as opposed to what peas and green beans did – icky face and clamped mouth. i whipped up some organic sweet taters today and she seems to really enjoy them. yay!

tooth number 1 is making it’s way out and number 2 is possibly on it’s way to making it’s debut. i am still thanking baby jeebus on how she is handling this all. i mean, there is fussiness and definite clingyness, but everything else is the same and even those 2 things are very manageable. i mean hey, it’s nice to feel needed. :D

we didn’t end up going to the maritime festival because a) it was raining in the morning and b) even though it stopped raining, a quick driveby showed a crowd that possibly would have put me over the edge had i tried to navigate a stroller through it. however, this freed up time for me to go and get my “spa escape” mani/pedi that my mom got me for my birthday. so GG watched the toof-monster while i spent over 2 glorious hours in a massaging recliner getting soaked, exfloliated, clay masqued, parrafin dipped and polished. AWESOME. totes loving the tangerine color i picked, too. who you ask, would get this excited to have gotten a pedicure, a luxury offered to all americans? apparently, a person who hasn’t had one since 2006. yeah, since my wedding. unless you count the one scot kindly gave me when i was 38 weeks pregnant and could no longer see my feet, let alone touch them ( he offered to do this when a lady at work said to me “so is having half of your toenails painted the new trend this year?” referring to my grown out polish job – and she was serious). thanks again mama! it was the perfect gift.

this week we’re getting our family pics taken! i’m excited and hope the nuggets teeth won’t bother her and make her cranky. cross yer fingers for us!
