her newest – and our favorite yet – noise. she will do this for minutes at a time until her face turns red and we are almost in tears. those of you who have seen it in action know how awesome it really is!

today we went to jane clark park with em, david and poppy. we met at forza for some iced coffee and bagels and soaked in the a/c. then off to the park! naked baby party 2009 commenced there and we had tons of fun.
could you just die over poppy’s chins and chub?!? i almost did numerous times. so freaking presh. going to the park gets increasingly harder as H literally will not sit still for a second. she was all over the place giving this mama a workout. it was about 10 degrees cooler today than it was yesterday (yesterday was the hottest day on record (103) in seattle EVER since weather has been being recorded in 1891 – and it was 108 in redmond – gross), so the shade wasn’t terrible, even at 90 degrees. the wading pool made it even better.
if both the girls weren’t so tired by this point (poppy almost actually fell asleep in the water!), we would have sat in it for hours, but they both needed naps badly. i don’t know about poppy, but harper went to bed way early since she completely decided to skip her nap all together today. took about 10 minutes in the car and that was it. crazy kid.
there is something so comforting knowing you and your best friends kids will grow up together. years from now we will have these and many more pictures and memories to look back on and the kids will always have familiar faces and love around them. makes me feel mushy!
anyways, after some tasty sammiches, salads and orange pelegrino at josepi’s, the monster and i headed home. she had a nice big cold bottle, cuddles with daddy and hit the hay about an hour before her normal bedtime. such a great day!

today was great! besides the 100 degree temps (seriously – shoot me), Harper and i had a fun adventure. we went to seattle to visit an old friend of mine from highschool, Kirsten and her twin girls, Lila and Mary. they are 10 months old and cute as can be! it was great to catch up (we literally hadn’t seen each other once since graduation!) and let the babies play. 
i could tell H loved playing with babies her age, and they all played well together. Harper stole a few toys and poked a few eyes here and there, but Kirsten assured me the girls are used to it – they are twins! the weather was absolutely unbearable, so we headed to U Village for some lunch and ducked into a few stores and used them for their AC action. then we headed off to the park to dip the kiddos in the wading pool.
could they all be any cuter? we stayed until the 3 started melting down from being tired and then headed out. but not before Harper grabbed a leaf floating by, stuffed it in her mouth without me seeing and promptly choked on it. my first official FREAK OUT. i actually can’t even type about it because i feel like throwing up everytime i think about it. horrid story short, i swept the thing out of the back of her throat, almost cried and squeezed the life out of her once i realized she was ok. NOT cool. on a happier note (so i don’t have nightmares – for reals), look at these cuties! :

i’ve been neglectful of my blog recently. but i’ve been busy crafting, hanging with buds and chasing the H-monster all around our house. her crawling skillz are beyond what i thought babies could even do – she is freaking fast, man. then there is this nonsense:
does it make me a bad mom that i secretly (well not so secretly anymore) want to push her over when she does this? relax – not like push push, but like, a gentle nudge so she stops doing it? i’m not ready for my baby to be doing this crap! she’s supposed to be needing me and wanting to play with me and cuddling with me, not crawling away. boo hoo! BOO HOO!
this week should be interesting – it’s going to be record highs and i am not looking forward to it. today was grossly hot and it’s going to reach 100 supposedly. that equals like, 178 degrees in our upstairs. ya know, where we sleep and the baby sleeps? poor dear is in there right now in just a dipe, fan blowing and window open. wish us all luck.
