today bree and i met for lunch at uptown and had super yummy flatbread with garlic white bean spread, prosciutto and arugula pizza, chop salad and fondi amber lager. we made the unfortunate decision to eat on the patio, and we sweating like pigs by the end, even under the umbrellas. harper sat in her stroller amusing us the entire time, and showing off her new dance moves. i need to get this on video asap, as it’s pretty cute. she bobs her head and wiggles around when music comes on – and this just started yesterday. so crazy how fast she picks up on things.

so after lunch we went into my new favorite toy store. it has amazing toys for all ages and some of the cutest stuff i’ve seen. not your typical fisher price stuff here people. i’ve seen Haba toys before, but never this many. i’m fairly certain bree and i were annoying as hell as we squealed with delight like little girls picking up each and every piece they had. i need to win the lottery so i can afford to buy Harper the whole kitchen and grocery store set up they have. it’s all German wood toys that are adorable and make me want to play house.

the tea tin put us both over the edge. tiny wooden tea bags. ugh, so cute. the stuff is pricey, but darling. i’m thinking Haba themed 1st birthday party! just kidding. but seriously.

my daughter.

everything she sees
she says she wants.
everything she wants
i see she gets.

that’s my daughter in the water
everything she owns i bought her
everything she owns.
that’s my daughter in the water
everything she knows i taught her
everything she knows.

everything i say
she takes to heart.
everything she takes
she takes apart.

that’s my daughter in the water
everytime she fell i caught her
everytime she fell.
that’s my daughter in the water
i lost everytime i fought her
i lost everytime.

everytime she blinks
she strikes somebody blind.
everything she thinks
blows her tiny mind.

that’s my daughter in the water
who’d have ever thought her?
who’d have ever thought?
that’s my daughter in the water
i lost everytime i fought her
yeah, i lost everytime.

holy car shopping batman.

what a crazy couple of days. i’m not going to get too into it because my mind is mush about cars at this point, but i have had 2 new cars in the past 3 days.

sunday we went shopping and bought a ford expedition. it was really nice, really clean and in our budget. we left happy after signing all the paperwork and driving the thing home. expo

monday morning we get a call from the dealership saying, just kidding, the bank actually won’t give you the loan without more money down, so please give us a grand or bring the car back (the words were obv different, but thats the gist). riiiiiiiiiiiiight. here’s an idea for next time KORUM FORD, after spending an hour signing loan documents and driving a car off of a lot and taking it home, mayhaps you should warn someone that there is a chance the financing could change. just saying.

turns out the issue was with the bank, they don’t like to give loans on cars over certain miles. makes sense, but lets go ahead and disclose to people first, mkay?

so we returned the beast (the thing is HUGE) and basically haggled them down on a dodge durango until we got the same deal. it was actually a blessing in disguise because the durango is 3 years newer, has 50k less miles on it and hey, i can actually park the thing. the expo was way too big. i am hearting my new car and hearting my hubs for getting it for me. i mean, it was his car that we were out to replace, but he wanted H and i to have a bigger ride that we can fit the carseat, stroller, groceries and pups in. so he got a new car, too (my old jetta) and we are all happy campers!durango

i love love love the durango. it drives really nice and can get up and go.  the best part is what a great deal we got on it, thanks to them originally screwing us over. i am super duper glad the whole fiasco is over and we actually have a ride that fits our needs (and in our driveway :]). happy times!

easiest cupcake recipe EVAR.

for those of you asking about the cupcake recipe, here it is! it’s probably the easiest thing in the world (which is probably why i make so many cupcakes). you need to buy the cake mix with out pudding (i am not sure why this is, but i’ve never tried). duncan heinz makes a no pudding mix. then all you need to do is omit the eggs, oil and water and use 12 ounces of soda instead. that’s it! seriously.

you can mix dozens of fun recipes – chocolate cake mix with orange soda, devils food with rootbeer, vanilla with sprite…the list is endless really. i’ve found the bake times are pretty much the same as what the box says for the regular recipe, but just keep an eye the first time you try it.

bonus: since there aren’t raw eggs in it, you can eat the batter. :]cupcakes
