today we did the puyallup! (for people not from washington, it’s our fair, in a city called puyallup and no, you probably can’t pronounce that without growing up here). i was SO excited to take Harper for the first time. it was really fun. since we couldn’t ride any rides, we decided to spend our money on fair food, and we were there long enough to sample LOTS of things. i feel a little sick actually, and for good reason : today i ingested a butter dipped ear of sweet corn, a philly cheesesteak, half of an elephant ear, a jumbo fresh squeezed lemonade and cotton candy. can you hear my arteries clogging? it was so worth it though, i LOVE fair food. i wanted to stop and get a bag of scones to bring home, but all the lines for them were rediculous on the way out, so no scones for us. harper absolutely loved the fair, she was amazing the whole time, even when we had to change her in the “family bathroom”. all in all it was a wonderful day and we all had a great time! here are some pics of the day.

randoms from the last week or so:

life is good! busy times in the next few weeks. my very good friend bree has graduated from fashion school (she is amazing, btw) so friday i’ll be attending her fashion show, and then her grad party saturday evening. sunday we are going to the fair and i am SO excited to take H for the first time, and eat elephant ears, scones and do other fat things. i’m working diligently on plans for our little monster’s 1st birthday party (tear and double tear) and am uber excited for her one year pictures which the lovely Stacy Jacobsen will be doing for us – in a pumpkin patch. so.freaking.excited.

harper has 2 more teeth working their way out, the top ones on each side of the front 2. i think it has really been hurting her. luckily, she doesn’t really fuss, but she gets very clingy and acts strange. monday was the saddest. she woke up at 7 (usually snoozes until about 9) and didn’t take her binky out or let go of her blanky all day. this never happens. the bink and the blank really don’t ever leave her crib. she really only enjoys a bink at bedtime, and spits it out when she falls asleep. but this day she protested me trying to remove it, and clung to her blanky for dear life. she literally cuddled on the couch with me all day, took 4 naps on me, and when she wasn’t sleeping, was laying on my chest patting me. break my heart why don’t you! luckily, no fever, no other signs of sickness, so i am chalking it up to toofers. poor dear.

gina, i suck at life and still haven’t mailed your pillow. i think tomorrow will be the day though. :]

i’ve been seriously slacking. sorry dudes. unfortunately i’m not here with anything exceptional to say today.  who watched the VMA’s? i didn’t, but after hearing all the hubub about kanye i had to dvr the re-run (one of probably 571  mtv will run in the next week) and all i have to say is:

1. i couldn’t stand him before and now my gag-factor for kanye is at an accelerated rate. GROSS. just gross.

2. i heart katy perry. not only is she amazing, her tweet from this morning said “f— you kanye. it’s like you kicked a kitten”. AH-mazing.

3. although i think michael jackson’s death is overplayed (sue me), i loved the opening dance sequence. l-o-v-e loved it.

4. lady gaga = WTF. yeah, bold, italicized, capitalized.

5. mad props to taylor swift and beyonce for being class acts.

well now that i’ve done 2 things i never thought i’d do (watch the vma’s after 1999 and talk about the vma’s after 1999), i’m off. i promise i’ll be back real soon.

oh and mr. west, this is what my kid thinks of you.
