review & giveaway :: Nourish

it’s literally impossible for me to leave the house without forgetting at least one really important baby item. i don’t think there has been one time since Harper was born that i remembered everything necessary to bring a baby in public. the most annoying is that is almost always something really important. diapers? check. desitin? check. wipes? FARK.

my most common mess up is things for her to drink. luckily now that she is older, liquid doesn’t equal food, but i felt like a horrible parent more than a few times when i forgot one of the following lists of components to make my child a life sustaining bottle : bottle. formula to insert into the bottle. bottle cap so when i shake the bottle it doesn’t go squirting everywhere. water already in the bottle so i don’t have to find a questionable drinking fountain to fill bottle. ugh.

when Nourish sent me their Nourish Toddler, a BPA free, recyclable, sealed and prefilled sippy cup, i was stoked. it’s perfect to throw in the diaper bag and not have to feel guilty that i forgot something for the kiddo to drink. it’s 10 ounces of purified spring water that is ready to go with a sippy cup top and lid. i only wish i had known about Nourish sooner, because their Nourish Baby is 8 ounces with a nipple top and wide neck perfect for pouring formula into.

i could go on for a while about how great of a product this is, but the fact is, it’s simple. it does just what every mama needs, which is make things easier. my only complaint? i can’t buy these at any store near me (get a list of their retailers here) and buying it by the case online is really pricey with the shipping. they do have a retailer form to give to your favorite local store so you can request they carry it. i personally think starbucks should jump on this, but what do i know, i’m just a blogger.

and and since we all know the struggles i’ve had with the sippy cups and i know from your comments that you have had troubles, too, yes Harper REALLY drank her Nourish water (i know, it’s a miracle!).

B reaking away from my hot chocolate and sitting by my christmas tree to come and blog is hard to do, but it must be done (because you might die if you don’t know what’s going on in my life right now?). we have had such a busy and awesome few days! we headed to yakima for thanksgiving with Scot’s family on thursday morning. putting clothes and makeup on before 7 in the morning was, well it was hard for me. Harper however was stoked to be pulled out of bed at such a ridiculous hour, but mainly because her daddy woke her up and she always flips when he’s around in the morning. after a much needed ‘bucks drivethru trip, we hit the highway and arrived safely in eastern WA ready for turkey.

H had lots of fun playing with all of her cousins. so much so that she decided she didn’t want to be the only one not walking, so she joined in. YES, she is walking now! she took her first real steps on thanksgiving day and now she is cruising all over the place. just like that and out of nowhere. she likes people to remember her – we found out we were pregnant on valentines day, she was born on halloween, first steps on thanksgiving. i know this means she will probably know all the words to boom boom pow and be able to recite a tip table by christmas.

we spent the next few days touring the countryside with my inlaws, eating piles upon piles of leftovers (which i swear are better each time) and clapping for H every time she conquered a new length of the living room. i went to bed no later than 9pm every night, took a nap daily and basically relaxed and had an amazing time.

we headed home on saturday evening and met up with friends that night. after being a sick household for weeks, i cannot tell you how lovely it was to put on heels and lipstick. today we decorated for christmas, ate cinnamon rolls and played scrabble whilst listening to holiday tunes. i kind of don’t want this weekend to end.

please wish me luck in keeping my now extremely mobile kid from knocking over/eating/ripping to shreds our (fake) christmas tree.

the first and only time she’s worn these cute purple shoes. too small now. :[

well friends, i’m off to eastern WA for a few days for turkey day! i totes still have time to bust out my maternity jeans because lets face it, elastic waistband = prime pants for eating a crap load of food. i’m really looking forward to a few days away and hanging with my in-laws. i love them.

while i’m gone, you should do some things (you know, after you’re done stuffing your face with stuffing). first, enter the giveaway in my last post if you haven’t already. free stuff for your baby = you’re kind of dumb not to (sorry, but seriously). secondly, follow me on twitter so i can follow you. i don’t really get twitter (i know it’s not that hard but there are so many symbols that mean something else…@, #, etc) but i’m trying. i promise i won’t tweet stupid junk like ‘i just went number 2′ or ‘i’m making a turkey sandwich’. unless of course i’m really bored.

happy thanksgiving everyone! i’m thankful for my fam, orajel & vicodin, yo gabba gabba and under-eye concealer.
