she loves her holidays.

reaking away from my hot chocolate and sitting by my christmas tree to come and blog is hard to do, but it must be done (because you might die if you don’t know what’s going on in my life right now?). we have had such a busy and awesome few days! we headed to yakima for thanksgiving with Scot’s family on thursday morning. putting clothes and makeup on before 7 in the morning was, well it was hard for me. Harper however was stoked to be pulled out of bed at such a ridiculous hour, but mainly because her daddy woke her up and she always flips when he’s around in the morning. after a much needed ‘bucks drivethru trip, we hit the highway and arrived safely in eastern WA ready for turkey.
H had lots of fun playing with all of her cousins. so much so that she decided she didn’t want to be the only one not walking, so she joined in. YES, she is walking now! she took her first real steps on thanksgiving day and now she is cruising all over the place. just like that and out of nowhere. she likes people to remember her – we found out we were pregnant on valentines day, she was born on halloween, first steps on thanksgiving. i know this means she will probably know all the words to boom boom pow and be able to recite a tip table by christmas.
we spent the next few days touring the countryside with my inlaws, eating piles upon piles of leftovers (which i swear are better each time) and clapping for H every time she conquered a new length of the living room. i went to bed no later than 9pm every night, took a nap daily and basically relaxed and had an amazing time.
we headed home on saturday evening and met up with friends that night. after being a sick household for weeks, i cannot tell you how lovely it was to put on heels and lipstick. today we decorated for christmas, ate cinnamon rolls and played scrabble whilst listening to holiday tunes. i kind of don’t want this weekend to end.
please wish me luck in keeping my now extremely mobile kid from knocking over/eating/ripping to shreds our (fake) christmas tree.
