I ‘m real ashamed to be sharing this on the interwebs. i know that it’s likely that no one will know or care what i’m talking about, but i’m so excited i can’t even contain myself. i make fun of twilight fans but here i am about to use capitalized abbreviations of teenage internet lingo to try and express my enthusiasm for a soap opera:

OMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMG!!!!!!!111!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! DAYS OF OUR LIVES! BABY SWITCH! FINALLY! OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SAMI’S FACE! NICOLE’S STUPID LYING FACE! AHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!! SO GOOOOOOD!!!!

::steps down off of chair and fixes hair::

sorry. i just…i’m a loser. i’m half hoping someone, anyone, will throw me a bone and say they watch it, too. ’cause one of you surely does, right? right?

carseat couture [1st edition]

Posted on | November 14, 2009 | 3 Comments

ots of things come to me in the shower, when i’m driving, and generally when i’m not able to blog about them (naturally). well after the other day’s fiasco with trying to get one measly photo of Harper in her cute outfit, i realized that shaking a silly toy in front of her face isn’t going to work anymore. she couldn’t give a crap. my camera is full of pictures of half my child’s face and her bum as she is crawling away. so where can i guarantee she will be sitting still, facing the right direction, and semi-happy? somewhere where she is literally strapped in, but not in a call CPS kind of way? her carseat.

look, i’ve worked hard to create H’s wardrobe. since i can’t justify paying full price for clothes she will wear twice before she grows out of (no matter how much i love them), i do the majority of my shopping for her clothes at consignment stores. it’s fun. like a treasure hunt. now her closet is full of baby gap, janie & jack, greendog and the like – and all on the cheap. so yeah, i’d like a picture or 2 of her wearing the treasures i’ve found her. for what? i have no idea. i’ve told you before that i’m crazy. whatevs.

so we begin carseat couture. this will be a regular thing, a “segment” if you will. because i just have that much going on in my life these days. november 174

martha? a little. oprah? not quite.

like i’ve said before my crafts are shabby. yet i keep making them because the ideas keep coming into my head. so, now i have an overabundance of fun, albeit kinda crappily made, hair clips. since i refuse to actually think that someone should pay for one (but thank you very much for all the comments stating that you would), i’ve decided to give some away. today starts the first round and these three cuties are up for grabs:november 125november 165november 157

if you win, you’ll receive all three. all you need to do to enter is leave a comment on this post. if you’d like a 2nd entry, please become our friend on facebook (in your comment here, tell me your name and let me know you became our friend). i’ll pick the winner on tuesday. sorry it’s not a car or bag full of cash, but your little one’s head might look a bit cuter! [or the baby of a friend, if you feel comfortable giving handmade-and-you-can-tell gifts...] remember, even if your little lady doesn’t have much hair and is more of a headband girl for the time being, these can be clipped to a plain headband. have a great weekend friends!
