icicle bicycle.

Our little Harper has many quirks. i love each one of them, even the ones that make her throw tantrums over the dumbest stuff. she is the most unique kid i’ve ever met and i’m only half saying that because she’s mine. she really is special, and anyone who has ever met her, even for just a moment in the grocery store, will tell you that. (and without me holding a gun to their head yelling “say it. SAY IT!”).

one of her “things” the past few months has been saying “bicycle” and “icicle”. we have no idea where it came from or what it means or why she says it, but boy does she say it. she picks up her play phone and calls the crap out of bicycle. she also picks up crackers, sticks and other random objects to call bicycle. i think bicycle is her imaginary friend.

after a hilarious phone conversation with my friend Mae about it, i promised her a video. why do kids never do what you want them to do when a camera is on them? even if it’s something they do four million times per day? they enjoy making liars out of us, no?

well i got a little bit. please enjoy.

i only laughed a little when i asked her to say “hi” and it sounded like she said “die”. also? WHY does my voice sound like that? and YES, i always find my child this funny, because she is. i’m super proud of myself that this video doesn’t showcase a snort. because that’s how i do.

post summary: don’t eat my kid.

Hands down. Funniest thing I’ve seen in awhile. I was just laughing watching her eat! She is so cute! I love how she just raises her hands when you want her to say, “so big!” What a doll! I could easily eat her in 2 big bites!

So funny! Watching her eat so intensely is pretty funny. And yes, they never do anything they normally do once the video is a’rollin. :)

Oh wowwwwwwwww. Cute doesn’t explain this, she is awesome.

Bicycle is such a big word for her to be saying! Does she understand what a bicycle is? Like when she see’s one she says it?

I have a similar situation with MJ saying “goya” He will say it like 15 times in a row.

This is the cutest video to date, for sure. Also, Topher is now obsessed with getting Piper to say bicycle. Never mind that she doesn’t say Daddy, he wants her to say bicycle. OK.

Also, Betsy? If you’re still around, that was inappropriate. I understand that the situation is dire, and /mandy, myself and countless others have been praying for that baby girl for days, weeks, or months. I am in no way saying that she’s not in need of or deserving of all of our prayers and sympathies. But you just spammed another person’s blog in Layla Grace’s name. To make Layla Grace into the internet equivalent of junk mail is frankly appalling.

I sincerely doubt that the child or her family would approve of her name or situation being used in such a manner, and I feel you owe both them and Mandy an apology.

Um, can you write comments from beyond the grave? Because I DIED watching this!! She is the cutest thing ever, and although your post came with a loud-and-clear warning, I’m not sure if I could stop myself from biting those tiny little cheeks. Ugh. Cuteness in its purest form…

OMG she is too freaking cute. LOVE her!

And yes they totally do love making liars out of us!!! Even my 7 month old knows not to do anything she’s learned in front of the camera or in front of another person. I guess I’m just so special that she only likes to show ME things… that’s what I keep telling myself anyway ;)

Love it! I showed my hubs and he laughed too. He was wondering what she was eating in the video? Also I like your new pictures. Harper is edible (in a non-cannibalistic way).

I literally squealed when she said bicycle. SO FREAKING CUTE.

Also my favorite part was watching her drag her fingers through the mashed potatoes. The girl knows how to eat.

can i just say how proud of you i am? (not that you need my praises to survive, but i’m just sayin.) i have known you since before your blogging days, and you have come SO FAR. i’m glad that you came out on top despite the stupid craziness that went on with dumb ae’s and forums. you didn’t let any of that stop you, and look where you are now. i mean, SERIOUSLY. i hope you take a good long look in the mirror every day, then walk away with confidence. because you deserve it. :)

Love this video! Too adorable! And she’s feeding herself with a spoon…I’m jealous! How did you teach her that? M&L hold the utensil in one hand, away from their body like it’s a dirty diaper, while they stuff food into their mouths with the other hand.

And, what a great new profile picture you have! Was that professionally taken? It looks awesome!

pretty sure h is the cutest kid ever. and i have four kids, so don’t tell them.

also, that whole video i was thinking oatmeal and a cookie, but cottage cheese and peaches works, too. (and is healthier. bonus mom points to you for the healthier part.)
