flowers for layla.

those of you who have been following Layla Grace’s story have probably heard that she passed away this morning. Layla was a 2 year old little girl with stage 4 high risk neuroblastoma. i, along with tens of thousands of other bloggers and twitterers have been following her story at www.laylagrace.org. this family has shown such strength as they have spent the last weeks with their beautiful baby girl.

i wept for them this morning when i heard the news, along with the rest of the world, as Layla Grace was a world wide trending topic on twitter. she touched the hearts of so many. i decided that Harper, Scot and I would plant some flowers for Layla this Saturday and i’m hoping you will, too. for Layla and all little ones who are taken from the world too soon.

for those of you who are still in cold weather (says the Seattlite…), consider planting in a pot and then transferring once spring really gets here. and if you can’t for whatever reason, i made a banner you can put on your blog. also, if you feel like participating, you can post it also, or blog this (even better!). let’s pretty up some gardens all over the country for Layla.

right click and save to your computer, then use a site such as imgur.com to get the code to use on your blog. place in your sidebar and then head to the nursery to buy some flowers. don’t forget to hug your loved ones.

rest in peace sweet girl.

My heart breaks for Layla’s family, what an incredible girl! My nephew Griffin passed away from Neuroblastoma after fighting for four years, so I know how awful it is. We will be planting flowers in Layla’s honor. Thanks Mandy for sharing her story.

Beautiful and thoughtful suggestion. Layla’s little light will be missed in this world.

Also, I wanted to tell you that I love Harper’s bicycle tee. It’s perfect!

I feel so awful for little Layla’s family & I’m praying that God will give them strength to get through this terrible & difficult time.

I’ll be visiting my in-laws this weekend so I won’t be able to plant flowers on Saturday, but I’ll be doing it as soon as I return home.
