it’s time again friends, for the monthly giveaway from my friends at pear tree greetings! they have a new line of personalized note cards that are everything from fun to elegant – i love them all. and i know you will, too. i have these beauties – aren’t they pretty?

i really feel like with the internet, email, texting and whatnot, people don’t send hand written notes anymore. but doesn’t everyone love getting real mail? that thrill of finding something in betwixt the bills and credit card offers and coupon books that has your name in real handwriting and a real stamp? well i do. peartree’s new line is perfect for saying thank you or just a good old fashion hello.

i adore the wood grain! this months giveaway will be a set of personalized notecards from peartree (12 or 16, depending on the design). to enter to win, simply leave me a comment here – i’d love to hear how you’ve used good old snail mail lately to say hi to someone. maybe your grandma or grandpa? a good friend who lives too far away? if you haven’t done it recently, tell me what you’d do with your notecards if you won!

if you’re looking to purchase from peartree this month, there is free shipping on orders over $29. just enter the code PEARJUL10 at checkout.

entries for the giveaway will be accepted through Thursday July 29th at midnight PST and the winner will be announced Friday July 30th.

good luck friends!

I have shamefully NOT used snail mail much recently, so I'd like to get back to it, for something more than thank you notes.

I love peartree! When you posted about them last month, I checked 'em out and ordered invites for my bff's bridal shower. They came out beautiful. I would love some cute note cards. I have lots of friends that have moved out of state, and would like to be able to send them a cute "hello"!

I've actually used good ole snail mail about 7 or 8 times recently thanks to my new MIL- She brought it up in conversation a few months ago that people don't send cards/thank you/ written thoughts as we did in the past before the internet boomed. SO, to instantly win some brownie points since i was carrying her grandchild and hubby and I aren't really married yet…. I sent her a nice thank you card after our last visit.. and then about a week later when she was thinking that I sent the thank you card JUST because she mentioned it in conversation, I send her another card.. a "Just Because" card wishing her a happy day. I wrote a few sentences about how I (and baby) were doing and mentioned good things about her son. MISSION accomplished and brownie points scored and I still send her cards every few weeks… it's actually very thoughtful to flip through the mail and actually get mail w/ written words. I also often wonder why people choose the particular card they send.. ahhh, as I ramble.. I also wonder where people are driving as I'm out and about. (can you tell i'm on maternity leave and have little to no adult interaction for most of my day?)

I am a sucker for stationary in general! My grandma still hasn't gotten the full concept of email and she lives across the country from me so we use snail mail all the time to keep in touch. I would love to have some cute little stationary to send her :)

My mama and I send the occasional letter back and forth – I think that was the last one I sent. Next up, though, is to send Lucy's grandparents her birthday retrospective dvd (that I still have to make).

I actually really try to send mail at least once per month. Either a little card to say hi to a friend, or birthday cards, I'm kind of a card freak. Love getting and sending mail! Recently – sent out thank you cards. Not that exciting.

My husband and I have been married for 2 1/2 years, and together for 9. He is in the Army, and since we've been together, he has been through Basic Training, Advanced Individual Training, time in Iraq, and time in Afghanistan. While he is away, I always take the time to send him handwritten notes and cards – along with packages, of course:) Even though email is faster, I think handwritten cards mean a little bit more to a person. What's cool is, we have saved each other's letters and cards from over the years!

I haven't used snail mail in forever…but if I did win this, I'd use them to write letters to our families once our little one is born. Telling how's she's doing and with a newborn picture inside.

Now that we have Abigail, I love sending family members birthday cards from her! Once I even put a pen in her hand and let her go to town! I can't wait till she's older and is really conscious of sending birthday cards and draws little pictures.

I've used snail mail quite a bit recently and EACH time wished I had some prettier paper to use. I sent thank you cards to my dad and uncle who graciously showed my husband and I around Louisville (where they live) on 4th of July weekend. I also sent my younger brother a letter because he just endured his first week at the US Merchant Marine Academy. I knew he'd be homesick so I sent a letter to arrive the day that he arrived.

YAY! I am a firm believer in the "pop-in" via snail mail only! I take my address book (yes, an actual address book with letter tabs that you have to write in.) every few weeks and sit down at my desk to send out random "HELLO!"s or "Thinking of you"s. I know that i am over joyed when I see a pretty purple envelope corner sticking out of that oh-so-impersonal stack of mass distributed mail and bills, and I like others to feel that way too. Whether it's a cousin I haven't spoken to in ages or an ex-coworker that I miss having around- I try to take a sec and write it down. I would LOVE to add these to my collection of pretty little paper!!

So last week I sent her the pin I wore inside my wedding dress on my special day so now she can wear a piece of me and I'll always feel like we were connected.

I send lots of snail mail these days. I just know how good it feels to receive a cute note in the mail, so I try to reciprocate that feeling whenever i get the chance. Also, I live 3,000 miles away from my (very large) family and I just had a baby, so, I send many pictures and such all throughout the month so that they can get a whiff of just how special my baby is. :-) .

I love sending and receiving 'real' mail. The last note cards I sent out were Thank You's to my family up in WA for a fab visit. I also sent a Thank You to my hairdresser for being amazing and she called to thank me for the thank you card because it had been so long since she received one.

I have just started picking up the pen again and writing to my little brother who is away at boot camp. My oldest daughter Emma and I write to him every other day, which basically consists of her drawing on a card and me making little notes that decipher her illegible writing. So far his favorite letter has been the one describing Emma's journey into the world of potty training (so far, so good!). It was sent out on a "Happy Birthday" card because I didn't have anything else. I would love to send him a proper letter on some fab stationary.
