unofficial review and new friends.

last evening i had an interview (not for a job – because SNORT) with the lovely Andrea, for an article for Parent Map. she lives up in seattle and she wanted to try out Bottlehouse in madrona. i’m so glad she did, because this place is charming as all get out. the owners Soni and Henri were completely delightful and made us feel so at home (my idea of a kick ass home – surrounded by wine. and cheese! and olives!). i know i don’t usually sing the praises of places on this blog, but if you’re local, you simply must try it out. you can thank me later.

the wine was great, the happy hour prices were more than reasonable, and the atmosphere was laid back. as it grew dark (so maybe we stayed longer than just the interview part…), tiny lights lit up the deck and there was live music – a singer this time – serenading the patrons. andrea and i had so much fun and instantly clicked (you know the kind of girl you can bust out any of your weird quirks around and not apologize for it? yeah that.) it was also admittedly cool to be interviewed and use things like “off the record” and stuff. i think i’m going to start just saying that in everyday situations.

harper: “mommy, yook. kitty.”

me: “off the record? i can’t stand that cat.”

after andrea had to head out, erika from bird e studios met me for a glass of wine! it was so awesome to meet one of my lovely sponsors in person and she is just as sweet and funny in person as she is over emails and twitter. love her! wish i would have taken a photo of us (and andrea and myself). luckily we all plan to get together again very soon. it was a fun night. i can add two more people to my list of NOT SERIAL KILLERS internet friends.

which is always good.

It's official, your life is infinitely cooler than mine. The last place I ate at involved ordering meal deals by number.

I'm a brand-new reader of your blog and I just love it! Harper is a doll.

I was curious — what kind of editing do you do to your photos? How do you round the edges like that? (I'm a newbie to photo editing!) Cheers.

    You had me at cheese.

Only I live in VA, so obviously am not going to go there.

    But that's off the record.
