Steppin’ Out Saturday – I’m on a boat

yeah, i don’t know either.

welcome to the first edition of SOWBPOS – Steppin’ Out Wednesday But Posting On Saturday (obviously). this past wednesday, i stepped onto a boat with some lovely ladies for a Girl Power Hour event called Summer Social on the Sea. there was wine, water and good conversation. I talked Chelsey into coming up and going with me and we met up with Kat, Jenny and Lisa.

if you’re in the Seattle area you should check out some of their events. there are all sorts of women there networking and if you’re like me – i need to work on my in-person adult conversation after almost 3 years of staying at home – you may be in need of socializing with adults. it was a fun night out and it was great to meet women doing all sorts of things – baking, making, tech-ing, fashion-ing, etc – in a fun atmosphere that was really friendly.

the girls and i had a blast. even if i literally could not stop yelling “I’M ON A BOAT”.

it’s a sickness.

Five.

Scot and i got engaged after roughly 4 months of dating. when you know, you know. you know?

today is our five year wedding anniversary. we’ve known each other for a little over 6 years. we’ve been married for 15 times longer than the amount of time we dated before getting engaged. we have been through a lot. we have seen a lot. we have cried, laughed more than anything, yelled (that’s a lie, we just aren’t yellers), gone to bed mad (i hear that’s a no-no), surprised each other, let each other down, lifted each other up, and most of all, discovered each other. i am who i am today because of him.

Scot is the most generous, hard working, loving, hilarious person i have ever known. he does whatever needs to be done for his family without even blinking. did i know all this about him after only 4 months? i sure did. but i had no idea the capacity. there are days when i can’t even believe how lucky i am. there are days i want to strangle him. people say parenting is the hardest but most rewarding thing there is. i’d have to say that marriage is equally as hard and equally as rewarding. making it all work together? a beautiful mess.

here’s to five years, and at least 65 more (we’re gonna be pretty rad old people).

i’m taking a big ol’ internet break! like a for reals one with no emails, twitter, blogging, facebook – nada. it? is going to be glorious. we’ve got a summer bucket list you know. aaaanyways – see you guys on the flipside. (SOS will still be here, so come link up. but i won’t be around to remind you, so just stop by, ok?). adios!

Bluum!

have you guys seen the little box to the left hand side that says Bluum yet? if not, i wanted to jump in here real quick and let you know what it’s all about. Bluum is launching next month and in a nutshell it’s a subscription in which you get a monthly delivery of handpicked samples (deluxe sizes and occasional full sizes) of beauty and baby products.

i so wish something like this had been around when i got pregnant with Harper. there are so many products out there, and many of the newer baby ones that i would want to use are pretty expensive to “try”. a box full of goodies delivered to my doorstep so i can try and see my favorites before i buy a big one? that would have ruled.

next month i’ll have a post with an interview on how Bluum is getting started and why, but i just wanted to let you guys know about it beforehand since they are launching so soon. you can sign up now for your invite so you’ll know when it’s time to subscribe. i know lots of you are expecting and/or have little ones, and i thought a lot of you would love it! i’m sorry, but anything coming in the mail for ME that isn’t a bill is something to get really excited about. amirite?

my first Bluum box is on it’s way to me, so i will let you guys know what i think next month. i’m sure smelling baby products won’t make the ovaries twitch whatsoever. yeah…

request your invite here.
