<i wore clothes as well but my old camera is currently on it’s way to florida so we are in phone picture territory until i get a new one, or find the charger for my point and shoot.>
last night we stepped in. we had our best friends bree and barham over for some late night wine, snacks, and settlers of catan. Harper was so excited at the prospect of this, she exclaimed it a party, and put on sparkly shoes and a feathery headband. she did her “cool moves”, sang some songs and generally entertained b & b before she had to go to bed. after she was in slumber land, we busted out the game and played until after midnight. i’m obsessed a considerable amount with settlers of catan.
this morning we went out for breakfast with our same good buddies at a place called the buttered biscuit. holy sheet. the portions were insane and the food was soooo good. i had their signature eggs benedict which was topped with the usual egg and ham, but also smothered in artichoke hearts, mushrooms, zucchini, tomatato and cheese before being douced with the yummiest hollandaise i’d ever had the pleasure of inserting into my mouthparts. Scot had chicken fried steak that was bigger than an infant, and i really wish i had snapped a picture. basically just picture a giant pile of delicious food.
on the way out to breakfast, this little convo occurred:
Harper: “where are we going?”
Scot: “out to breakfast with auntie bree and uncle barham.”
Harper: “to a restaurant?”
Scot: “yep.”
Harper: “whats it called?”
Scot: “the buttered biscuit.”
Harper: “ooh! i love butter!”
i about died. i think she’s had butter once, on toast, and hated it. but man if that didn’t make me snort laugh for a good 10 minutes.
