This week.

this week was pretty low key around here. Scot and i changed our diet habits up a bit because i’ve been getting terrible headaches pretty much daily for the past two weeks. i don’t really get headaches so of course i’m convinced i have a brain tumor the size of a grapefruit taking over my noggin. i think it has more to do with the foods i’ve been eating, so we are on a healthier kick. hence the photos of smoothies, fruit, veggie burgers and cous cous. less processed junk and more good stuff. per usual, this will last for a good while before i remember that nutella tastes amazing and that pasta makes me happy.

i discovered Draw Something. hello, addicted. straight up, check me into some sort of pictionary rehabilitation center because i cannot stop. i have nearly peed myself at some of the terrible drawings i have done, and amazing ones people have drawn for me. you have it, don’t you? if not, do it now.

i started reading The Help. ooh and i joined goodreads! are you on there? i haven’t had a chance to really delve into it yet, but i’ve started. so let’s be friends or whatever. i’m loving the book so far. thanks to those of you on facebook who helped me pick it (and thanks to my mama for lending it to me!).

we had a good day on wednesday. for the past month (ok, more), we’ve had to leave our favorite play place due to the nug throwing an epic, omgWTF are you even doing i can’t even, three year old TANTRUM. like, i have to remove her from the premises with her under my arm, her shoes in my other hand while she’s kicking me and trying to hit me in the face. it’s…not pretty. and it was really freaking depressing me. so i didn’t take her for a week and told her why. we had a long talk at the dinner table tuesday night about how tomorrow we are going to play and here are the rules. and she did pretty great. really great! we played for 3 hours and only had one minor situation which was easily dealt with and when we left, she was calm. damn, that was a nice change of pace. make no mistakes about it people – toddlers can suck. i’m sure instagram doesn’t have a filter for that. nothing can make that ish look pretty.

p.s. i want instagram! c’mon get it together for android people!

also, google, in furthering it’s quest to make me punch it square in the face, has cancelled google friend connect for people who have non-Blogger blogs. i have an idea, NO I WILL NOT JOIN GOOGLE+. stop cancelling all your good stuff to try and make us use it. first picnik, now this. ::shakes fist:: jerks. anywho, to continue following the blog (IF GFC was how you followed me), you need to either subscribe via rss, add it manually to reader or your blogger dashboard, or follow with bloglovin‘. cause my blog won’t show up in your feed anymore otherwise. for some of you this is good news, but i’m speaking to the other ones.

i’m looking forward to the weekend. what do you have planned? my mom is coming home from vacation (tonight i got a video text of her and my aunt ziplining through Freemont street in old town Vegas!) so i’ll be picking her up, going to a bday party and as always, lots of coffee will be involved in various forms. happy friday!

for reals! i love my droid but i’d also really love instagram. retro camera is decent but nothing compared to the ‘gram.

Ohhhh … I love the belvita wafers (crackers? cookies? whatever.), they are sooo soo good. I have bad mom moments when I hide them from my four year old so I don’t have to share. Sometimes our Sunday paper runs pretty decent coupons for them.

Happy Friday to you! I am resisting getting Draw Something because I know it will suck me in. I LOVELOVELOVE Pictionary and I have actually been semi-productive recently so I don’t want it all to go away.

I was so very happy when I traded in my Droid for an iPhone. Instagram is my #2 app (behind Facebook, naturally).

Okay so I might get an iPhone just so I can have instagram. It’s not fair. I want it. Also, you should post some smoothie recipes. I would love to add them into my newly healthy diet as well.

pssst…word on the street is that ig will be coming to andriod phones in the near future.

also isn’t 3 such a miraculous, trying, awesome, omgmyhairsareturninggreybythemoment age?!?  the tantrums slay me both in good & bad ways.  emilia’s tantrums consist of her either falling face first into the ground while wailing OR lifting her right leg as high as she possible can (i’ll admit, sister has flexibility as it gets up to her shoulders on the really good tantrums) and then she slams it down in intense rage all while giving me the evil eye.  most times i have to turn so she doesn’t see me laughing.  she definitely gives it the old college try but i’m onto her.  oh 3 year olds…they’re a breed all their own.
also?  know you are not alone.  :)

    happy weekending friend!

i feel like emilia and harper together would create some special kind of birth control, like poof! out of the air if they were in the same room throwing down on their tantrums. i have had to turn my face to laugh, too. it’s so bad.

don’t you think belvita sounds too much like velveeta, so it’s a weird name choice for a “healthy” snack? this has been bothering me like crazy! even though they look good. are they good? my 3year old saves all his epic meltdowns for target, my favorite place, totally making me scared of going there and ruining my happy place! what is wrong with these kids?!! they are nuts. and google sucks. do you have post-picnik plans? i don’t know what i’m gonna do :/

i’m glad the toddler tantrums are subsiding {for a moment?}…i dread those days. lately Sky has been waking up all night screaming at the top of his lungs for milk…it’s awesome. my parents are going to vegas next week, they are so funny…i love that our parents take vacations still :) hope you have a great weekend!

I too am SO frustrated by Instagram not being on Android yet! Ahhh! I am anti-iPhone so I would never go to the dark side. Just waiting patiently. Do you use Vignette? I find its capable of at least producing Instagram-looking photos…

My almost 2 year old has been throwing some epic tantrums lately- it’s horrible.  Also a tip on the the spinach in your smoothies- if you put the spinach on the bottom and then put ice and whatever else on top it weighs it down harder on the blades so the spinach chops up finer.

I know it sucks but IG was created by two guys who knew how to work the Mac/iPhone OS, and they’ve only recently hired other people to develop for the Android platform. That’s why it’s taking so long… it’s not cause they hate you!

whaaat is this Belvita situation? i’m going to have to check those out.  we watched “Forks over Knives” this week and are rockin’ some serious vegetation on our plates as a result, so I’m feeling you on the green… I have to start with the smoothies though, SO GOOD.

also, for my 2.5 year old i just started rocking the “1-2-3 Magic” situation.  after reading the book i realized i had been doing aspects of it already, but it felt good to read the whole system.  AND it worked like the magic it claims to be today at the Aquarium, pretty awesomesauce.

    happy weekend!

maybe it’s the lots of coffee in various forms giving you a headache? Or perhaps the sugar in them? And veggie burgers are processed, just fyi.

    [Reply]

    Mandy Reply:

it could be. thing is i don’t use sugar in my coffee too often and i said less processed foods.
