High on Thrifting Thursday | v.9

Hey I didn’t forget this time! Brb, patting myself on the back. Welcome to another fine installment of HOTT, my hot friends. I was able to get some nice and relaxing thrifting in on my birthday recently because H had preschool in the morning. First I hit up goodwill to search for a few pots, then headed to Home Depot to buy myself some plants! More succulents, a jade plant and a houseplant I hope to keep alive.

Pots at retail are pretty dang expensive so I was happy to find some cute ones for much less. I also couldn’t pass up this little oven for Harper. The price tag was too good to be true. I think this is from Ikea or something, I feel like I’ve seen it somewhere recently. Anyways, she LOVES it, and I’m going to put it in her room (someday we will have a playroom…someday). Many wooden brownies have already been baked and hoo-boy the tea parties.

There are people who don’t “get” thrifting and I can totally understand that. Here’s one reason why I will always thrift, and why I tell people to be patient with thrift shopping. For months I have been wanting this large basket from Target for our shoes. The basket is $40 and I’m sorry but I just cannot/will not. I have been patiently stalking it hoping it would go on clearance (even then though, totally more than I’d want to spend on a basket for crying in the river) with no luck. Then once day I find this gem at goodwill. No, it’s not my beloved Target basket, but it’s the same shape and in my budget for a vessel that will hold things that people wear on their feet.

So there are my recent finds! A whopping $16. Link up your recent thrifty post below and check out everyone elses – I love seeing what you guys find/am obscenely jealous.

Nothing made me happier as a kid than my mum giving me £2 and taking me thrifting. I’d come back with the most amazing treasures and we still laugh today at the stuff I picked! Love that oven! So cute! The plants are amazing too!

I have been on the hunt for a shoe basket too. I’m tired of tripping on them all the time.

Pots ARE super expensive and I love the little white one! Also, a shoe basket is genius. Much better than my current shoe pile.

I so need to find some planters and put plants in them…love that idea! Though I usually end up killing any plant that enters my house…not on purpose. Kids just seem easier to take care of then plants do!

After all your cute picture of succulents I finally got just one, and I love it. If I don’t kill it I might get more. I’m trying to stay motivated by all the good finds you, and everyone else, are finding. I will find good stuff!

It’s so true about having to be patient when thrift shopping.  Many people have told me that they can’t ever find anything – and they admit to only be there for 20 minutes.  I’m like, “OH NO…nonono…20 minutes is how long I spend looking through DRESSES.”

Great find on the basket!  Perhaps, some day, I’ll join in on this Thursday event.  *le sigh*
