Here we go again!

Today was Harper’s first day of her second year of Preschool. Last year was kind of a trial run for all of us – we just wanted something for a few hours a week where she could socialize – her favorite thing on earth to do. It was great, she made some great friends (I made a few, too) and learned a lot. The school we’d chosen was great but it wasn’t quite the right fit for Harper, so we found a new one this year and we are all in love. She actually finished out the last month of school at the new one last year and it’s the perfect fit. She’ll do this year of preschool (a 4 year old class) and then Pre-K next year before heading off to kindergarten the following.

Which we’re not even talking about.

My mom and I took her school shopping last week (my mom spoiled her like crazy – thanks again mom!) and last night Harper came up with this glorious ensemble:

Can you even handle it? I, for one, cannot.

She was so excited I didn’t even have time to think about crying – I was just too happy for her to be sad. I seriously can’t think of much cuter than these tiny people with their tiny backpacks. The only time I came close to tears was when she saw her friend Matthew from last year and went running over to him, only to trip and fall flat on her face on the carpet. It was the first time I’ve ever seen her embarrassed and it broke my heart. Luckily she shook it off like a boss and kept on keepin’ on.

I think it’s going to be a great year – I’m so proud of this little lady.

Harper is wearing: Top: H&M // Gray skinnies: Gap // Shoes: TOMS

I’m in awe of Harper and her tiny fashion. I have, what, 26 years on her and I don’t even think I could rock an outfit that cute.

Joshua’s school stopped serving lunch so they have to take their own now. No big deal. Except my heart about exploded into a million pieces of simultaneous awesome and sad seeing him carry his lunchbox into school. These kids and their growing!

Better look out for this future fashionista. She looks so cute. I know the feeling of letting your little one go and believe me they say it get easier and it doesn’t. Mine is in fifth grade now and I still get anxious for his first day of class.

Oh that little grin is making me clinch my teeth harder than I’d like to because I know it will result in a headache later. Yay for preschool! Yay for Harper’s cuteness! Yay for hopefully not tripping this year! Yay for no mommy tears! Cheers.
