If there is one thing I can say about this pregnancy it’s that it’s flying by. While simultaneously creeping along? I think the latter part isn’t really true but it feels that way because I’m still waiting for the last of the 1st tri sickness to GTFO. I feel great most days, then I wake up one day and hurk all day. I am back on the coffee as of this week though, which is like, the best thing ever, for all parties involved, mostly the ones who have to deal with me in any capacity.

This week Harper has been on mid-winter break, which worked out pretty well considering she wouldn’t have been able to go to school anyhow. She woke up with a red, goopy eye on Monday, so I took her to the doctor. Not only was she rocking some pink eye, but a double ear infection as well. Well then! I felt terrible but she claims her ears never hurt. I was glad I didn’t miss any signs, while also noting she is not a big wuss like her mom. She’s almost too tough, because if not for the nasty eyeball I wouldn’t have taken her in. Anywho, she’s doing much better after only a few days of antibiotics and the rest of us are washing our hands and avoiding touching our eyes like our life depends on it.

Other than getting the kiddo feeling better, this week was pretty uneventful around here. Getting my energy back has been amazing (especially for the sake of the state of my house), hopefully it just gets better from here. Our big ultrasound is only a month away! And we are finding out. Because I need to know these sorts of things. I don’t really have a feeling either way, but the thought of either another girl or a boy is so exciting for different reasons.

This weekend we are celebrating my mama’s birthday, getting Harper set up with a new bed (giving her the queen bed from the guest room to make room for a crib – eee) and some other house projects. The March of Dimes walk is coming up in a few months so if you’re in the area, stay tuned for info on our team soon. We have a big goal to meet to beat last year and I’ll need all the help I can get. I’ll have the info together soon! And hopefully a nice, big giveaway to help raise money.

I hope everyone has a great weekend!

    Congratulations again, Miss Mandy!

Also, Harper is getting a queen-sized bed?! Man. THAT is awesome. My husband, fat dog, cat and self all cram onto a queen. Clearly we need to upgrade!

I know right? Lucky. We have a queen, too. We just happened to have a queen for the guest room and giving it to her made the most sense (never have to buy her another bed AGAIN!). It’s one of my life dreams to have a giant king sized bed. Sigh…someday.

Be prepared to be challenged physically to your breaking point by baby # 2 and mentally by kiddo #1, and emotionally by both -this did not dawn on me until #2 was already here.

Pregnancy is so much better when you finally stop feeling too sick for coffee.

Not to suddenly get all morbid, but do make sure you ask LOTS of questions about baby #2′s heart at your gender ultrasound. A lot of techs will miss abnormalities (the two different techs who performed my two separate anatomy scans did) and since congenital heart defects effect 1 in 100 babies worldwide, its worth it to be extra nosy and annoying. Fortunately, we still caught my little guy’s defect before he was born, but half of babies’ effected by CHDs go unnoticed while they’re in utero.. SUPER scary.

Anyway, I’ll stop preaching and get off my soapbox now. I just figured since you’re taking part in something like the March of Dimes walk, you’d probably care to know :)

Here’s a link with the yucky facts and the right questions to ask, if you’re interested: http://thebabyladies.com/congenital-heart-defect-awareness-week-what-moms-need-to-know/

Lucky Harper! I’m still in a Queen size bed. And with this belly, a husband, and a body pillow we are quickly running out of space.

You look beautiful. I’m sure you are so excited to find out. Can’t wait to know.

So funny that you mention the ear infection and that you wouldn’t have taken her in had it not been for the eye. Same thing just happened to me Monday! I took my son to the dr because he had a little rash on his belly. Turns out he had an ear infection and that can cause a viral rash sometimes. Good thing other things pop up to alert us moms!! My son wasn’t complaining at all either.

Oh my gosh!! My 3 year old had pink eye this week too. Ugh. Also we were potty training. Double whammy. Thankfully the eye drops cleared it up and the rest of us have been spared (knock on wood). Hooray! You’re almost in the magical (?) second trimester!

You look great :) Hooray for 2nd trimester, the best of the three in my humble opinion. There is a major blogger baby boom happening right now. I love it.
