This week.

friday and february already? ok universe, if you say so.

this week was pretty laid back and lovely. there was coffee, a playdate (lookie that Brynn’s cheeks!), more coffee, of course mini-topknots, and a lady date with Elizabeth, Amy, Lindsy and Bree for dirty burgers. what makes them dirty? well, it’s the way you feel after you eat one – so incredibly dirty and full of self loathing for having just enjoyed a pile of food as much as you did. burger, cheese, thick cut bacon, garlic mayo and tomato jam on a pretzel bun. i have mentioned it numerous times here and probably will again, because i have dreams of this burger. if you’re local, hit up DOA and get one. or the elk sliders. or the greek burger. or anything on the menu. i get my burger with garlic fries because i hate myself.

Harper now has 2 levels of fashion attire – naked with undies OR omg wearing every piece of fairy attire she owns at one time. she goes from jammies to naked in .6 seconds, then from naked to fairy like it’s her job. we are talking tutu, wings, headpiece and wand. most of my days consist of picking up tulle and clothes strewn about the house.

besides no clamp curls and Kristen Bell, here a few other things i loved this week:

Stacy threw her son a Mario birthday party. freaking love it.

i bought this gelaskin for my phone and it’s on its way! NEON ANIMALS.

massive blog crushes – Oana Befort and designlovefest.

we have been downing smoothies like it’s our job. Harper’s two favorites have been this one and this one.

and thank you to Lisa for bringing this amazing blog to my attention. hilarity.

how was your week?

Steppin’ Out Saturday – Tacoma Social

top: f21 // jacket: target (long time ago) // jeans: target // shoes: thrifted // necklace: f21

blurriest photos ever. i guess that is what happens when you have no idea how to actually use your camera. whatever, just pretend you’ve had some wine (hey it’s saturday evening – maybe you have! in which case, enjoy!) and let’s move on. sorry if these made you carsick.

but. green pants!

this whole outfit was much cuter sans coat but it was what felt like 10 degrees outside and i am a huge complainer in the cold (big surprise there) so to spare my husbands eyeballs from extreme side eye pulled muscles, i threw this one on. it brought my number of shades of brown count to 3. which is not ok. but again, you’re drunk right now so it doesn’t really matter.

anywho, we actually stepped out last night to support Tacoma at the Tacoma Social, the first event put on by Camp 6, a culture and style website trying to bring t-town together as a community. we don’t actually live in Tacoma, but we frequent it and think of it as our second home. if you live in the area and are interested in checking it out, here is Camp 6′s site. they are hosting an event each month at different places and it was a great place to meet other creative local people. besides: wine.

after that we went to bree and barhams for a little board game/beer in animal coozie action. it was a fun night with friends. unfortunately, the kidlet has come down with a cold today, but i think the couch and lots of Octonauts are helping. poor nugget.

i’m just making out with a dr. pepper and wearing the coziest sweater i own and rubbing her little back.

oh! i’ve been getting some new reader questions about SOS so i figure i should talk a bit about it. the first rule of SOS is that you don’t talk about SOS. just kidding, that would ruin the whole thing. but seriously, there are no rules! no, you don’t have to step out ON saturday. no, you don’t even have to actually step out anywhere. you can link up your style post from anytime in the week if you’d like, all i ask is that you be sure to link the post in which you are SOSing, not just your main blog url, so people can find your post immediately. and if you’re so inclined, add the SOS button to your post so others can play along. any other questions? oh and be prepared to meet some really nice people – i happen to think the SOS family is the nicest group of people out there.

ok, enjoy the rest of your weekend!

sweater: gymboree, thrifted // jeans: gap // boots: carters, thrifted // backpack: mini harajuku for target

last friday H had preschool in the morning and we had a date with Stacy and 2 of her 3 boys to go to the children’s museum afterward. but it was just our luck that the museum was moving and therefor closed, set to reopen in it’s new location the next day. what do you do when you’ve told your 3 year old you’re going to a museum all day and then you can’t? cupcakes.

because toddlers don’t know nor care that cupcakes are totes 2006. oh and? either do their moms.

frosting is frosting. is marshmallow flavored frosting.

pretty sure that sweater is completely ruined from being slathered in chocolate frosting. if you ever need some cheering up, simply sit and watch a couple of kids (or just one if you only happen to have one handy) consume a cupcake. there is nothing not cute or happy about it. if you disagree i will fight you.

that escalated quickly! brick killed a guy with a trident!

besides, cupcakes give you muscles. or they have muscles. who knows really?

This week.

this week started off kuckoo bananas. i found myself in a lovely city (san francisco) for an unreasonably short amount of time (like 31 hours from touch down to take off) doing something so cool i had to keep pinching myself (seeing your name after “talent” on a production book isn’t exactly the first thing you think of when you start a baby blog in 2009). it was a whirlwind that i will never forget and likely never stop feeling grateful for. i will share the finished product with you guys pretty much the second i’m informed that it’s done.

SF welcomed me with gorgeous 65 degree sunshine, delicious food and a king size bed that was so comfortable i felt mocked when my alarm went off at 4:30 am on the only morning i was lucky enough to wake up in it’s gloriousness. it also welcomed me with an early monthly gift (most likely from the self produced stress – srsly i had no idea it was even on it’s way) which produced a really fun TP stuff-and-waddle to the corner 711 at 5 in the morning. nothing like a little pre-dawn humiliation to bring your ass back down to earth, no?

sorry male people?

i also got to meet my friend Meg for the first time, after knowing each other for 4 years. we had wine (hi, duh) and ate the most glorious brussel sprout dish ever to grace my mouthparts. i still can’t stop thinking about them. i know, get a life right?

once i was home, there were massive amounts of cuddles. interspersed in those moments of cuddles were moments of a tiny terrorist trying to plot my death. three is an….interesting age. it’s fun, yet, um, challenging. it’s…ok it’s like repeatedly punching yourself in the face and then jamming said face into a vat of nutella. is what it’s like. super painful and then really sweet. over and over.

but then she drew Goofy (seriously do you see that? i can’t even draw Goofy that well). so i mean.

also, beer.

let’s look at a few things i loved on the internet this week:

e tells tales asked her readers to anonymously comment their honest goals for the new year. 420+ comments later. refreshing honesty from lots of people. pretty kick ace.

this skirt Ellen made for Tessa is sew cute (omg see what i did there just then)! i wish i knew how to sew/had a sewing machine.

a valentine exchange – how fun! probably a lot more fun than in 5th grade when i wrote “i hate you” to the other Amanda in my class on her valentine and got in big trouble. i’m guessing.

the pugly pixel always has AMAZING tutorials and goodies for bloggers and this is one i can’t wait to sit down and try.

i met these two lovely ladies in SF also. you should check them out if you never have.

and one of the better videos i’ve seen in the whole Sh*t Blank People Say meme. funny.

happy weekend! see you sunday morning for le SOS.
