on Harper >> kitty shirt: h&m // purple jeggings: target // shoes: target. on me >> top: f21 // green pants: target // leopard flats: thrifted //watch: target // bangle: f21
this weekend we stayed in! but we had Bree and Barham over for snacks, drinks and game night. earlier in the day my mom, Harper and i hit the mall while Scot was working and this kitten shirt was a must have (and for $4.95 i could not say no. never say no to kitties).
let’s just address the elephant in the room and acknowledge that yes, i look a bit christmasy in this get up. luckily in person, the shirt is coral and white, not red and white, but i think it’s close enough to maybe not do this combo again? a bit candycane looking especially with the BRIGHT GREEN PANTS. lesson learned. besides, now i have the perfect christmas eve outfit, 8 months ahead of time.
p.s. cutest watering can evar, in the target dollar bin section. also, kitty trying to photobomb.
so! we made some snack plates (pita, hummus, peppers, olives, feta, artichoke hearts – you know, the good stuff) and got stuff for bloody marys and after the kiddo was all good to go in bed, we busted out settlers of catan and got our settling on.
a good time was had by all. unfortunately, Harper woke up in the middle of night with a fever and is not feeling well at all. i have the sore back of the throat thing happening and i’m pretty sure we are in for an un-fun couple of days ahead of us all. i can only hope if it does hit us all that it’s the last sickness of the season.
so, i’m off to cuddle. hope you guys are in the midst of a great weekend with no fevers or sore throats!

on Harper >> dress: vintage, thrifted // shoes: target // sweater: childrens place, thrifted.
happy monday! monday is a perfectly acceptable day to post a saturday link up when you’ve been gone for 4 days, forgot your own suitcase so had to buy $5 maternity tops off the yakima target clearance rack (I AM NOT PREGNANT) along with travel size EVERYTHING and new underwear and…well you get it. so easter, yeah?
ours was lovely! save for all that talk up there about the forgetting our suitcase of course (at thanksgiving we forgot Harper’s suitcase when we went over the pass to my in-laws. this time we were both so obsessed with getting hers into the car we left our joint one in the living room. genius!). we had a glorious weekend in eastern washington, me and my maternity tops. ok but seriously, i have a ton of photos to share of all of our fun later this week. for now let us bask in the glory that is this freaking dress. the cute, it burns. i am SO glad i snatched this up last year and was patient enough to wait for it to fit. because i die! she also chose the leopard shoes, which take it right on up a notch in my book.
between Scot, my MIL, my FIL and myself, i think we re-hid all the easter eggs a total of eleventeen times yesterday. she was obsessed with finding them, it was adorable. she also passed right out at the table while we were all eating from the devastating downward swoop of her sugar high. just pushed Scots arm aside and conked right out in his lap. more ham for me!
did you guys have a good weekend? can’t wait to hop around (see what i did there) and see everyone’s outfits. i mean, of course if you haven’t given up on me, it being monday and all.

on Harper >> top (dress?): old navy, thrifted // leggings & shoes: target. on me >> top: liberty of london for target (like 3 years ago?) // jeans: gift from Levi’s // shoes: target
you know those weekends where it’s sunday morning and although you still have most of the day ahead of you, you still really really don’t want monday to come? basically that. right now.
nothing spectacular happened (unless you count shopping at trader joes, which i totally do), but between some sunshine and an agreeable little human, this weekend gets a gold ace star from me. sorry for the plethora of photos of the tree in front of our place but seriously, it only looks as amazing as it does now for a short while and every time i look out the window or walk outside i have an overwhelming urge to hug it?
yesterday we were out doing our errands and Harper demanded we listen to Adele. the thing is, i really like Adele. a lot. but the other thing is? it’s all we’re allowed to listen to in the car lest our ears be accosted with wretched sounds that only 3 year olds can make. so usually we deal, but yesterday we wanted to hear something else. so we turned on the radio and told Harper that Adele had the day off from singing to her. which was working out really dandy (“Harper this is called the foo fighters!”) until the stupid radio played ADELE. busted.
later Harper said “mommy, daddy is a foo fighter”. which you know, logistics.
i’m off to hug my tree. hope all of you are having a good weekend, too! no foolin’.
p.s. i hate april fools jokes. i’m very “get off my lawn” like that.

on Harper >> top: target (harajuku mini is on clearance, jigs!) // pants: target // shoes: TOMS. on Mandy >> top and sweater: f21 // jeans: gift from Levi’s // shoes: charlotte russe years ago
whew! this weekend flew by. my mama moved and we have been running around getting all of her stuff safely to her new home. she’s going on a new adventure and moving into an adorable mother-in-law apartment at a beach house. the place is tiny, but the thought of my mom learning to kayak and being able to join her for some sangria and vitamin d this spring and summer makes me so happy. she’s getting settled in pretty good. but man are we all dog tired. i think my arse is making an imprint in the couch as we speak.
today while we helped get more stuff to and fro the new place, goodwill and the storage unit, we stopped for some pizza and beer. and gelato for the kiddo after she scarfed her tiny cheese pizza. it was a GORGEOUS day (still chilly but the sun is welcome any day, any damn time) and it was a welcome break.

all of this to say – we stepped out to absolutely nowhere on saturday night. we ate dinner on the couch in jammies, watched a few episodes of Parenthood on hulu after the kiddo was in bed and promptly made a big tie tie. Harper got to see the actual beach today for a little bit and holy cow, she is going to have a BLAST this summer finding shells.
i hope you guys had a great weekend. i’ve had a few requests for posts about how i’m learning to use my camera so i think one will be coming this week. it’s not like i know what i’m really talking about but some tips and tricks for starting on manual should be good.
now for some extra strength tylenol up in here.
