h-o-t.

i’m not kidding, these blog posts are going to get shorter and shorter if this weather stays (not that i don’t love summer, but our upstairs gets unbearable). it was 89 degrees today!

our little monster is 7 months old! i took her to dr. lavinder yesterday for her 6 month check up (yeah, a schedule mishap on the pedi’s offices part, but oh well). she was thrilled with harper in every way, and couldn’t get over what a good baby she was. here are her 7 month stats:

17 pounds 3 ounces (52nd %)
26 1/2 inches long (54th %)
17 inch noggin (90th %)

she did fabulous the whole time, downed the oral vaccine, but of course screamed bloody murder for her shots. poor little nugget even has a tiny bruise on one of her thighs. she slept most of the day away, cuddling with me and being clingy. last night she had a temp of 100.3, but with some baby tylenol and an early bed time, she is doing much better today. it’s great to know she is right on track and healthy as can be. she even got a book from dr. lavinder, a cool program they have that will bring a book to harper at each of her appointments from now on.

our condo is getting painted this week which means every being in our house is rudely awoken by strange men on ladders next to our windows each morning at 7:30. not cool. i think they should be on to the next building by thursday and i really hope i’m right. i’m not really down with getting the bejeebus scared out of me when i walk into my kitchen and some shirtless dude is in my backyard.

last night we gave harper peas for the first time. someone is not a fan. the faces she made were enough to make both scot and i almost die laughing. she’s also learning how to drink out a sippy cup these days, which she has masters completely, except for the tilting the cup part (you know, the part of the equation that makes the liquid actually reach the mouth). she seems pleased with water, so that is good. now if the weather would just even out to a nice 75 degrees, i’d be stoked. this room is stifling and i have to go now. sorry internets.

4 months!

i don’t think i’ll ever get used to this (time going by sooooo quickly). but here we are, our little biscuit is 4 months old! she laughs, squeals, smiles like crazy and eats like there is no tomorrow. we took her to see dr. lavinder this morning and here are the stats:

14 lb 3 oz (!)
24 1/2 inches long
17 inch noggin

she’s doing GREAT. dr. lavinder says we are still doing a wonderful job (phew!) and that Harper is on track in every way imaginable. go nugget go! she did have to have her second set of shots, which is never fun. one in each chunkey little thigh. the first one, she didn’t even flinch, but the second one…not so much. apparently the vaccine in the second one stings going in, and boy did she let us know. SO SAD. Harper looks good in purple, but not when it’s her actual skin color and she is so upset that literally no noise comes out for at least 15 seconds. it’s enough to put any mama in tears. she recovered quickly though! and she is happily napping now. she can do whatever the heck she wants today, poor little babe.

we’re in week 2 of ‘new tv 2k9′ and i’m falling more and more in love with that tv everyday. between on demand and the dvr, i’m booked for the next couple of months. :D on a closing note, i’d like to say CONGRATS to mah friend Jessica on evicting her crotchfruit (as she liked to call him) this morning at 10:28. Benjamin is absolutely adorable and i fully look forward to his and Harpers arranged marriage. way to go jess!
